Faith-Works Events
Through Faith-Works Embrace Richmond coordinates short-term urban missions events.
Monthly Blessing Days - Join Embrace Richmond as we partner with the CARITAS Community Sharehouse to provide a formerly homeless individual with furnishings for their new home. This event is designed for families and groups ages 10 and up. The event cost is $10 per participant.
Through these three day events, participants will experience the journey of homelessness from the streets, to the shelter, to finally arriving in permanent housing. Participants will be guided in their journey by formerly homeless individuals who through their story. The event cost is $150 per participant
Unity-Works Project
Unity-Works is an training program offering people of faith opportunities to learn about the issues facing impoverished individuals in Richmond and helping individuals and congregations discern how they can help prevent and end homelessness in Richmond through partnership with non-profit organizations. The Unity-Works project is being funded in part by Valparaiso Universities Practicing our Faith program. The project cost is $95 per participant. Please visit our website at www.unityworks.org.
Community-Works Program
Through the Community-Works program Embrace Richmond mobilizes formerly homeless and other volunteers who serve through our AmeriCorps programs.These AmeriCorps members provide aftercare services to homeless and formerly homeless individuals by serving in Central Virginia's only furniture bank, by providing employment assistance services in partnership with CARITAS Works, and by serving as community based peer mentors to individuals and families in transition.
